When Jesus called his disciples he ordered them to preach the gospel among the nations along with that he also told them to teach what he taught them about the kingdom of God. So we can see that to walk we God we need to teach others and especially our children who are very young and simple.
We have to teach them with love and care as they are very emotional due to their age. Sometimes we need to scold them to bring them into the path of God.
It is our responsibility to told them up in the teachings of Jesus so that they will get the truth. Jesus says that we will know the truth and the truth will set us free.
To give real life to our beloved children that are designed by the Lord we need to teach them the words of God which will protect them from all the wicked plans of Satan.
Let us go through the following Bible verses which speak to teach our children according to the will of God.
Proverbs 13:24(KJV)“He that spareth his rod hateth his son: but he that loveth he chasteneth him betimes.
Explanation:- It is important to teach our children about God. We should not neglect to bring them into the feet of God. As we love our dear children so to give them a bright future we must approach them with the words of God. To correct them we can sometimes chastise them so they can walk in God’s ways.
Deuteronomy 6:6–7(KJV)“And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up”
Explanation:- The Lord asked his people to teach all the commandments to their children so they can understand the greatness of God. Often we forget God’s blessing and help when we overcome the situation. But we cannot deny that God wants us to deliver his miracles to others, especially to our children. The Jews were the chosen people of God. They were called to fulfill a special purpose.
Proverbs 22:6(KJV)“Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it”
Explanation:- Children are the future generations of our nation. We must take care of them. They should be well treated to hold the ways of God in their life. God loves children but he wants them to obey all of His commandments to achieve the goal.
Proverbs 22:15(KJV)“Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child; but the rod of correction shall drive it far from him”
Explanation:- Children should be taken care of for the sake of their future. Most people think that they should study well but it is most important to teach them the word of God.
Proverbs 23:13-14(KJV)“Withhold not correction from the child: for if thou beatest him with the rod, he shall not die. Thou shalt beat him with the rod, and shalt deliver his soul from hell”
Explanation:- The scripture teaches the parents to beat their children so that they can learn what the truth is. Children may not show their interest to obey the word of God but it is the parent’s duty to guide them in the ways of God.
Proverbs 19:18(KJV)“Chasten thy son while there is hope, and let not thy soul spare for his crying”
Explanation:- Parents can chastise their children in order to give them a better future. Though children may not feel good at that time it would be best for their future.
Children are the hope of our nation’s so we should prepare them in such a way to achieve a glorious future.
Proverbs 29:17(KJV)“Correct thy son, and he shall give thee rest; yea, he shall give delight unto thy soul”
Explanation:- The bible teaches its reader to guide the children as they will take that charge of the family when the parents will grow old. If we do not teach them the right thing then the world will teach them what it’s not right.
Proverbs 29:15(KJV)“The rod and reproof give wisdom: but a child left to himself bringeth his mother to shame”
Explanation:- A child needs to stick in his childhood because it is helpful for his life. Without the work of a stick, a child will not learn what is important for his life to know. This scripture encourages parents to beat them when they will not obey their orders.
Ephesians 6:4(KJV)“And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord”
Explanation:- Parents should not always rebuke their children without any reason. But they must nourish them in God’s teachings so they will understand what is the value of life. Parents must understand their children’s problems as well.
Colossians 3:21(KJV)“Fathers, provoke not your children to anger, lest they be discouraged”
Explanation:- Fathers should guide their children in God’s wisdom which will lead them towards godly life. If they often scold children then they will be discouraged in their life. But parents should always encourage them in order to become successful people in the sight of God.
Psalm 34:11(KJV)“Come, ye children, hearken unto me: I will teach you the fear of the Lord”
Explanation:- Children should have fear of God in their hearts. Until a child fears God he will not walk in God’s ways. It is extremely important to fear God to get wisdom from the Lord. As the word of God says the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.
Psalm 78:4(KJV)“We will not hide them from their children, shewing to the generation to come the praises of the Lord, and his strength, and his wonderful works that he hath done”
Explanation:- Children should have the knowledge of their forefathers’ God who once brought them out of Egypt. They should also know all the miracles that the Lord has done for them. So it is important for the children to have a relationship with the Lord who is almighty.
Isaiah 54:13(KJV)“And all thy children shall be taught of the Lord; and great shall be the peace of thy children”
Explanation:- Children should be known as the Lord who is the protector of Israel. He can do all the impossible tasks. If they also believe him then they will also be blessed.
That is why Isaiah said that every child must know the mighty God of Israel who can do miracles and wonders in today’s time.
Deuteronomy 4:9(KJV)“Only take heed to thyself, and keep thy soul diligently, lest thou forget the things which thine eyes have seen, and lest they depart from thy heart all the days of thy life: but teach them thy sons, and thy sons’ sons”
Explanation:- A child must be prepared to reach the wisdom of God in his life. If a parent fails to guide their child in God’s guidance then they will commit a big mistake in their life.
Children should be taught the words of God so they will know the one true living God in their lives.
