Before the ascension, Jesus taught his disciples to preach the gospel to the entire world and he also commissioned them to teach what they have learned from him. Jesus also told them that many false prophets will come in his name and they will remove his people from their faith.
Today, we can see many false teachings come up in the world that presents a Jesus who is not mentioned in the Bible. It is very important for every individual believer to know Jesus according to the Bible and they must live a holy life that Jesus teaches in his scripture.
If we do not pay attention to what Jesus told, we will soon be cheated by the false teachings and eventually end up our faith. Only Jesus can give us everlasting life because he gave his life upon the cross to purchase us from the hands of Satan. Now, we need to trust him and obey him in order to be saved.
1 John 2:18-19(KJV)“18 Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time. 19 They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us”
Explanation:- Children of God are called to live in Christ in order to be saved from the antichrist. As the days go by various people will come and they will present themselves as Christ. They will also take away many believers from their faith. Ultimately they will lead them toward death by separating from one true God.
1 John 2:22(KJV)“Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son”
Explanation:- Believers should have the right knowledge about Jesus who came in flesh to save us. We are his disciples and we must trust him that he will come as it is recorded in the Bible. Any teachings outside of the Bible concerning Christ are false teaching. The role of father and the son of the one true God must be accepted by everyone.
2 John 1:7(KJV)“For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist”
Explanation:- We must have in-depth knowledge about Jesus to avoid false teachings. Many false teachers are teaching themselves as Jesus and they do not believe that Jesus came in flesh this earth save mankind. The word of God warns us to stay away from such people who do not teach what Jesus preached.
1 John 4:3(KJV)“And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ comes in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world”
Explanation:- Many evil Spirits can claim that they are Jesus but the scripture tells us that we need to ask them if they believe Jesus came in the flesh. If they agree then it’s good but if they deny Jesus as God came in flesh then we need to be wise to handle them. Because they are evil spirits and they are the antichrist.
Matthew 24:24(KJV)“For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect”
Explanation:- Every believer should have enough knowledge of Christ to be protected from false prophets. Jesus said that they will do many miracles and wonders by which they try to prove that they are the Christ who has promised to come back again on the earth.
Mark 13:6(KJV)“For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many”
Explanation:- Jesus had already warned his disciples about the things which will take place prior to his second coming. He told them that many will come to mislead his people by claiming themselves as Jesus. In order to be safe from such deceivers, believers need to know well about Jesus.
Luke 21:8(KJV)“And he said, Take heed that ye be not deceived: for many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and the time draweth near: go ye not therefore after them”
Explanation:- The disciples were aware of the last days where many will come in the name of Jesus. They will come to deceive the people of God. Jesus warned them not to depart him rather they must stay with him closely by which they will be able to save their souls.
