The teachings of Jesus are very simple and naive. He says that we will be resurrected after our physical death. He has proved it by his own life. We all will be standing before his judgment seat.
We are to obey the word of Jesus in order to get eternal life. On the other hand, if we lead our life according to our own desires then we have to suffer in hell which is called eternal death.
To save us from the power of death Jesus made death powerless by his own life. We are to choose eternal death or eternal life on this earth. Let us see the following Bible verses which speak about eternal death.
Matthew 25:46(KJV)“And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal”
Explanation:- Jesus came on this earth to redeem from the wrath of God. He has offered his life on the cross for the sake of the entire world. The Love Of God was manifested through the life of Jesus Christ and he has called us to be Holy in order to make us worthy to live with him in his place. It is our duty to walk in his teachings otherwise we will experience eternal death in hell.
Matthew 10:28(KJV)“And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell”
Explanation:- Christians should have deep knowledge about the scripture. They are called for a special purpose where they will have the everlasting life which will be given to them at the second coming of Jesus.
Jesus says not to fear the people of this world who can only destroy the flesh but he says to fear God because he has the authority to destroy both the body and soul in eternal death.
Matthew 25:41(KJV)“Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels”
Explanation:- This verse depicts the situation which will take place in the times of judgment where God will separate the righteous from the unrighteous. He will throw them into the lake of fire where they will live forever.
The Bible teaches us to work according to the teachings of Jesus Christ to inherit the everlasting life in heaven which the Lord has made for the people who will follow him faithfully.
Matthew 22:13(KJV)“Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness, there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth”
Explanation:- We must pay heed to our life after death as real life will begin from that time onwards. The scripture says we are walking towards a goal where we all will be resurrected from death and we will receive a glorified body by which we will live forever.
Now we need to think very deeply that if we fail to obey the Lord on this earth then we have to pay the cost in hell which is the second death and it is our spiritual death as well.
Hebrews 10:26-27(KJV)“For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries”
Explanation:- To redeem us from the power of sin Jesus died on the cross on behalf of us. Even after knowing the truth, if we still walk in the darkness and we commit sins then we will have no other way to get free from our sins. We will definitely see eternal death where we will cry and shout because of the fire.
Romans 6:23(KJV) “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord”
Explanation:- We all are sinners in the eyes of the Lord because our forefather committed the sin and we all are bearing that sin in us. We are not worthy to see the Lord but Jesus made a way for ourselves so that we can be called righteous in the eyes of the Lord.
The scripture says the wages of sin is death and we all deserve death. But we all have a hope of eternal life which can be gain through the life of Jesus Christ alone.
Explanation:- People who are involved in criminal acts will not be allowed to enter into heaven. As the Lord is holy so he demands his people to be holy. In this world, God has given us freedom but there will be no freedom to choose in the time of judgment. God will judge us according to our works and he will send us to the everlasting place.
Revelation 20:10(KJV)“And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night forever and ever”
Explanation:- God did not create hell for men but it is for the sake of satan. But people who will follow him will also be cast out into that everlasting place for the punishment. We must be careful concerning our works as we all have to give the account before the Lord. We should have fear in our hearts in order to skip the eternal death which is designed for the unrighteous.
John 5:28-29(KJV)“Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation”
Explanation:- We the Christians have a high hope that is the resurrection and eternal life and it will take place at the second coming of Jesus. At that time all the dead persons will rise from the grave and they will also receive the glorified body which will never decay.
The scripture says that the righteous and unrighteous both will be resurrected and God will judge them according to their deeds on this earth and he will send them in heaven and the righteous will be sent into the lake of fire.
2 Thessalonians 1:9(KJV)“Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power”
Explanation:- In the beginning When God created man in his image there was no sin in them but due to the disobedience the sin entered into them and gradually it covered the entire world. Now we all are affected because of the sin and we lost the glorious position that Adam and Eve had in the garden of Eden.
Now we all are quite far from the Lord and we cannot approach him by our own righteous works. But God is love and he made a wonderful way for each of us so we all can again get that glorious position in him. He made the way by sending Jesus on this earth and giving us a way through which we all can be qualified to enter his Kingdom.
