Obedience to the teachings of Jesus brings blessings, happiness, and peace among the children of God. The children of God who were obedient in the Bible were successful in their lives.
God called us from this sinful world so that we can separate from sinful activities. We are specialized in the eyes of the Lord. We must live to fulfill God’s standards.
Jesus says that the father will reveal himself only when we will obey his commandments. The blessing will come down into our hearts and we will experience a difference by obeying his teachings.

John 15:14(KJV)“Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you”
Explanation:- Jesus says that to be his disciple it is mandatory to obey all of the teachings. His disciples will be called his friends only when they will obey all of the commandments. We can make a close relationship with Jesus only by obeying his teachings. If we fail to obey his guidelines then we will not get any blessings from him.
John 14:15(KJV)“If ye love me, keep my commandments”
Explanation:- Jesus knows the hearts of the people that is why he says that many will say that I love you Lord but very few will keep his commandments. Jesus warns us that we must walk along with his teachings so that his name will be glorified through our lives and by doing so we can become his disciples.
John 8:31-32(KJV)“Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free”
Explanation :-In the times of Jesus many Jews leaders and Pharisee were against his teachings. But Jesus taught them with authority as he was God in flesh. He says that one will be free only when he will get the truth what Jesus preaches.
Matthew 7:21(KJV)“Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven”
Explanation:- The Bible claims that everyone will not enter heaven. Many people might work for the extension of God’s kingdom but few will get the chance to inherit the kingdom. Those who will keep the commandments of Jesus will enter heaven.
John 14:23(KJV)“Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him”
Explanation :- A true follower of Jesus Christ will keep all the commandments of Jesus Christ in his life. The father will reveal himself before him when someone walks in his ways. Hebrews 5:8(KJV)“Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered”
Explanation:- Jesus being God came down on this earth and put the human cloth and suffered on this earth and died for our sake. Jesus was obedient to the father and till his last breath, he completely acted according to the will of the father. From his life, we should learn that until we discipline ourselves and put ourselves in God’s commandments we will not be successful in our Christian life.
Luke 11:28(KJV)“But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it”
Explanation:- Jesus said that many received the word of God but few obey them. It is good to hear but it is not easy to apply them in practical life. To be obedient to the Lord means we have to forsake worldly lifestyle.
We must understand that God is preparing us on this earth to lead us into everlasting life because of that we have to obey all of his teachings for the upliftment of our spiritual life.
Luke 6:46-47(KJV)“And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say? Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like”
Explanation:- Many will call Jesus their Lord but they are not obedient to his words. Jesus says that from their mouth they are righteous and this shows themselves that they love him very much but in times of obedience they are useless. They do not care what he says to obey and they live their life according to their own understanding.
John 8:51(KJV)“Verily, verily, I say unto you, If a man keep my saying, he shall never see death”
Explanation:- Jesus boldly says that he came on this earth to give us everlasting life which can be received only by believing him and walking in his teachings. If we follow him and live according to his will and commandments then we will see no death.
Jesus himself was resurrected from his death on the third day and we will also be resurrected and get a glorified body and we will reign with him forever.
Philippians 2:8(KJV)“And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross”
Explanation:- Jesus revealed himself as the son of man and lived a sinless life and surrendered himself in the hands of God. He completely obeyed the father and walked in the path of God. Because of his obedience, the entire human race got the privilege to be connected with the father again.

Acts 5:29(KJV)“Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men”
Explanation:- In the times of persecution from the Jews society Peter and the rest of the apostille decided not to follow the people or their tradition rather they were confident that they must obey God because if they do not obey the word of God then they will be thrown into the everlasting lake of fire.
The same thing will also happen to us to destroy our spiritual life Satan is always trying to trap us in his plan. But we need to remember that we are the children of the highest God and we must obey him to get his Grace in our life.
1 Peter 1:14(KJV)“As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance”
Explanation:- The children of God should live a disciplined life that can please God. In spite of worldly temptations, they must be strong in their faith which will produce endurance in their spiritual life, and ultimately they will have the authority to overcome the world.
Jesus himself also had gone through many trials and temptations in his life but he was successful in every aspect of his life because he was obedient to the father. The word of God encourages us to be obedient to the Lord so that we all can inherit the kingdom of God which has been designed by the Lord for our permanent destiny.
1 John 5:3(KJV)“For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous”
Explanation:- God has loved us and as a token of his love he sent his son on the cross and he gave his life for our salvation. His love is unconditional and we cannot measure it with our worldly equipment. We should also respect God’s love by obeying all of His commandments so that God’s love can be honored.
We should not take it lightly because God is going to judge us by his commandments that he has given to us for our salvation. People around the earth are looking for hope and righteousness but it is revealed in Jesus around two thousand years ago.
Exodus 23:22(KJV)“But if thou shalt indeed obey his voice, and do all that I speak; then I will be an enemy unto thine enemies, and an adversary unto thine adversaries”
Explanation:- The Lord says here that if the children of Israel obey all of the teachings then the Lord will fight for them and he will be their enemy’s rival. How wonderful it is that God will fight for us when we will obey his teachings.
The Lord loves us and he wants to fight for ourselves so that we can defeat our enemy and it would be possible when we follow his teachings.
Jeremiah 7:23(KJV)“But this thing commanded I them, saying, Obey my voice, and I will be your God, and ye shall be my people: and walk ye in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well unto you”
Explanation:- Israel was the chosen nation of the Lord but in spite of God’s special blessings, they have sinned many times. The Lord made them suffer several times but God wanted them to obey all of His commandments so that they can gain life.
