There are many instances in the bible which show us that God is with us and he is able to fight for us when we are unable to fight against our enemies.
The Lord did wonderful work when he delivered the Amorites to the hands of Israel. On that day the Sun stood still at Gibeon and the moon, in the Valley of Aijalon. The Israelites defeated their enemies because God fought on their behalf ( Joshua 10:12-14).
Moses was chosen by the Lord to bring His people out of Israel. While the children of Israel were leaving the land of Egypt they encountered the mighty Red Sea ahead of them and the Lord divided the Sea and made the way in the midst of the river. Thus the Lord delivered his people from their enemies (Exodus 14).
Paul used to torture the Christians who left the traditions of Judaism. Once Paul went to bring the Christians to Jerusalem and on the way to Damascus Jesus met with him and asked him “ Saul, Saul why are you persecuting me”.
Paul did not persecute Jesus, yet the Lord told him that Paul was actually persecuting him. This is crystal clear that when someone hurts a Christians its directly goes to Jesus. We see that God is with us and he fights on our side while we are in great danger (Acts 9:5).
Jeremiah 1:8(KJV)“Be not afraid of their faces: for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the Lord”
Explanation:- The Lord called Jeremiah while he was a youth. He argued with the Lord that he is so young that he cannot speak. But the Lord told him that he was chosen when he was in his mother’s womb. Jeremiah was afraid to go to the children of Israel to speak what the Lord wanted to say to them. At that time the nation Israel left the way of the Lord and they walked according to their own desires which made the Lord angry.
2 Thessalonians 3:3(KJV)“But the Lord is faithful, who shall establish you, and keep you from evil”
Explanation:- This verse says that God is faithful and we are confident enough because he had done many miraculous works in the lives of his people. Our God is so great that he can protect us from all evil and he has the ability to lead us into the land where we can dwell with him forever. The call of the Lord should be responded to in a positive way because all of his plans are best for us and he knows what will happen before us.
Isaiah 49:25(KJV)“But thus saith the Lord, Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the terrible shall be delivered: for I will contend with him that contendeth with thee, and I will save thy children”
Explanation:- The Lord had given a foreshadow that the gentiles will also be part of his salvation. There will be no more captives under the authority of Satan. Everyone will have the privilege to access the Lord. God alone will make the way for the entire world to be saved. We all know that Jesus fulfilled the plan of God and now we can make our relationship with the Lord.
Isaiah 54:17(KJV)“No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper, and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord”
Explanation:- The Lord is mighty in power. He proclaimed that no weapon will ever be worthy to stand against his judgment. He will bring everyone into judgment. God told his people to be prepared as his works will be manifested among the other nations.
Exodus 14:14(KJV)“The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace”
Explanation:- This is one of the remarkable incidents that took place in the lives of Israel. The Lord did a great miracle while the children of Israel had no way before them. The Egyptian armies were chasing them to bring them back again into slavery and in front of them, there was the Red Sea. All of a sudden the Lord divided the Sea and made a way for his people to get through. Thus the Lord saved his people from danger.
Psalm 35:1(KJV)“Plead my cause, O Lord, with them that strive with me: fight against them that fight against me”
Explanation:- David had an intimate relationship with the Lord. Whenever he encountered hardships in his life he used to ask God to deliver him from his troubles. He sought the face of the Lord when he was surrounded by his enemies. He knew that he cannot overcome them with his own strength. In that same manner, we must welcome the Lord when our life pushes us down. We can boldly confess that if the mighty God is with us who can defeat us.
Deuteronomy 20:4(KJV)“For the Lord, your God is he that goeth with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you”
Explanation:- God was with his people whenever they faced problems, especially when he fought to save his people from their enemy’s attack. The children of Israel were moving forward under the guidance of God. In their journey they experience many battles where they defeat their rivals with the power of God. the Lord is still with us and if we allow him to fight with our enemies then he will definitely do so.
Deuteronomy 3:22(KJV)“Ye shall not fear them: for the Lord your God he shall fight for you”
Explanation:- The Lord used Moses to bring his chosen nation out of Israel and after which he called Joshua to accomplish the remaining task to lead the children of Israel into the promised land. There were many battles where the Lord fought against the enemies of Israel and helped them to reach their land which he promised to their forefathers.
2 Chronicles 20:15(KJV)“And he said, Hearken ye, all Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and thou king Jehoshaphat, Thus saith the Lord unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God’s”
Explanation:- King Jehoshaphat was extremely afraid when a great multitude of Moad and Ammon gathered to destroy Judah. Jehoshaphat called for a fast throughout the nation and everyone sought God to deliver them from their enemy’s hands. The Lord heard their prayers and asked them to be calm as he fought on behalf of the king and made them victory over their enemies.
Deuteronomy 1:30(KJV)“The Lord your God which goeth before you, he shall fight for you, according to all that he did for you in Egypt before your eyes”
Explanation:- The mighty hand of the Lord was displayed in Egypt and the Pharaoh experienced that there is no one like God. There was a certain time when the children of Israel were standing before the Red Sea and they had no way to get through but the Lord made his way in the midst of the Sea. This verse reminds us that God is so powerful and great that he takes our side when we are in trouble.
Romans 8:31(KJV)“What shall we then say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?”
Explanation:- Our faith in Jesus Christ makes us different from other people. In Jesus, we become a new creation. Nothing can fear us any longer as we become the child of mighty God. It is true that none can be against us when God is with us.
