Dear friends, the Bible repeatedly warns that those who live in wickedness and rebel against God will face judgment in the end. Although the wicked may prosper for a season, their day of reckoning will come.
God’s justice and holiness demand the punishment of evil. We cannot escape the consequences of chronic sin. The Psalms describe how God will one day shatter the wicked like a potter’s vessel. They will be driven out in disgrace, the living will be cut off from the land.
Although God patiently allows the wicked to turn from their ways, those who stubbornly persist in evil will suffer disaster. Their own sinful choices and disobedience to God’s ways lead to their destruction.
However, Scripture also confirms that God does not delight in judgment. He wants to redeem all people through repentance and faith. We must examine our own hearts, repent of hidden sins, and surrender our lives completely to Christ.
He alone can deliver us from the coming wrath and take us to His eternal kingdom. The Lord is patient, but the day of reckoning is certain. May we live holy and godly lives, warning others of the dangers of persisting in unrighteousness. The fruit of righteousness and holiness is life, but the wages of sin is death
