As followers of Christ, how do we handle conflict with enemies and adversaries? The Bible calls us to a different response from the ways of the world.
With unbelievers, we must remember that they are blind without the gospel. So we conquer evil with good, reconcile hate with love. We bless those who persecute us and pray for our enemies. It reflects God’s mercy toward us, displayed in Christ.
Between believers, disputes should be resolved peacefully. We gently restore those caught in sin, patiently correcting without condemning. Gossip and slander have no place in the church. Forgiveness heals broken relationships and builds unity.
But we do battle against the forces of darkness spiritually. Using Scripture as our sword, we refute deception and destroy lies. The Holy Spirit helps us discern false teachings and resist temptation. Standing firm in faith we claim Christ’s victory over evil.
After all, we are called to purify our own hearts. As we grow in grace, we will extend more grace. Our real enemy is not flesh and blood. By following Jesus, we conquer evil with humility, truth, and sacrificial love.
