Dear friends, dishonesty is a serious sin that separates us from God’s righteousness. When we choose to deceive others through lies, we follow the example of Satan, the father of lies.
Although we may justify small untruths to enhance feelings or to gain advantage, and consider them harmless in God’s eyes. Then we are wrong because the Bible warns that all liars will face eternal judgment.
In the day of reckoning, no false witness or clever excuse will prevent God’s perfect knowledge of every word and deed. But God is ready to forgive and cleanse all who confess their sin and make reparation for the damage caused by their lies.
So instead of dwelling on deception, we must bridle our tongues to speak the truth in love. Honesty strengthens human society while falsehood introduces chaos and division. When we take care to be truthful in every situation, we reflect the holy nature of Christ. Our honesty will also point others to the One who is truth itself, the light that pierces all darkness and deceit.
So let us return from the broad path of dishonesty to the narrow path of truth. Only by God’s grace can we be pure in heart and innocent of tongue, freed from our nature as liars and become new creations who speak the truth.
