What And When Is Good Friday
Every year the children of God celebrate the Friday before Easter as Good Friday. This day is observed to remember the painful crucifixion of Jesus. All the Christians throughout the world give importance to this special occasion. Good Friday is also known in two other names such as Holy Friday and Black Friday.
Friday, April 15, 2022, this Good Friday will be celebrated.
Meaning Of Good Friday In The Bible
We are all familiar with the word “Good Friday” but what is its history? – Not everyone knows that. If we want to know the underlying meaning of the word, we are behind. We must go to an event two thousand years back.
On which Friday was the Son of Man Jesus Christ crucified at the beginning of the day – who is this Son of Man? What was his crime? God, the Creator of all things, did not want beauty and holiness to be destroyed from this world. He wanted to bring the people to the Lord whom he created.
The Bible tells us that God sent His only begotten Son into the world – “We can live through Him”(1 John 4:9)
Jesus Christ was born on this earth as the Son of Man at the right time. He pulled his hands to bring the sinners near him. He gave life to the dead, He showed the blind, He healed the lame and crippled. And helped the needy. Through his miracles and wonders, it seemed that the Lord started to create the universe again.
But man did not understand God’s plan. The Son of Man declared emphatically that no one would see the kingdom of heaven unless he was born again.(John 3: 3)
The selfish people in power became furious. Conspiracies continue everywhere to stop him. They planned to remove Jesus to get rid of this man forever. Late in the night, the Lord Jesus was caught in the Garden of Gethsemane. Judgment is held at various judicial meetings at night.
The Roman governor, Pontius Pilate, examined the accused and found that the accused was innocent. But he punished Jesus by sentencing him on cross because the multitudes were aggressive. The blood of the Savior was pouring out and the ordinary Friday became the holy Friday.
Jesus Christ, the man closest to the young and the old, was full of selfless love. Saint Paul said of the most loving Savior of mankind, “He is the one who loves me and has sacrificed himself for me.” (Galatians 2: 20)
“Alexander and I have built a huge empire, and we have relied on military power for our creative talents,” said Napoleon, the world’s greatest living emperor. Jesus is the only one who has established his kingdom worldwide by love and at this moment countless people are ready to give their lives for him in return for his love.
The Roman governor Pontius Pilate was forced to say, “What crime has he committed? I can’t find any reason to put him to death. (Luke 23:22)
The words of these words were heard in the mouths of some people. The judge’s wife said, “You have nothing to do with the righteous” (Matthew 27:19). Judas also expressed his sorry by saying that I betrayed an innocent man(Matthew 27:3).
The Roman general confessed, “This man was righteous (Luke 23:47) and King Herod found no fault in him (Luke 23:14). Sins are not forgiven without blood (Hebrews 9:12).
The immaculate Lord Jesus Christ had to accept this great sacrifice as the lamb of the great sacrifice. “How surely the blood of Christ, who by means of the everlasting Spirit has offered himself to God in the form of an immortal and immaculate sacrifice, frees us from our lifeless ritual by which we are able to worship the living God. (Hebrews 9:14)
Blood flowed from the body in the crucifixion, the joints of the body were dislocated, the whole body was tormented and he forgot all the pain of his own body and said, “Father, forgive their sins, they do not know what they are doing” (Luke 12:34).
Violence can be destroyed hundreds of times by revenge, but it is not possible to conquer the soul. This cross symbolizes God’s infinite love and forgiveness. Sinned, he forgave them and proclaimed love and forgiveness, a moral tool to defeat the enemy.
Stephen, the faithful apostle was brutally murdered by the Jews
Before his death, the blood-stained wounded Stephen was able to say, “Lord, you do not bear this sin of theirs.” (Acts 7:80)
Jambulinga, a notorious bandit from South India, was tortured in various ways by his party members and police after he personally accepted the Lord Jesus as the soul savior. At that time some people were urging him to take revenge, he often said to them, when I myself have received so much forgiveness from the Lord Jesus, can’t I forgive them?
Staines, an Australian social worker from Orissa, and her two infant sons were brutally burnt to death in a car parked in the dark of night (22.01.1999). Newlyweds Gladys says, “Forgive everyone who does this.
God’s Word says, “Be kind and long-suffering toward one another and do not harbor animosity toward anyone. bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do.(Colossians 3:13).
The crucifixion of the Lord Jesus is not recorded in events or history as “Good Friday,” but inspires sinful people to repent, and, above all, to submit to the Lord Jesus for the forgiveness of sins. Two bandits were crucified on either side of the Lord Jesus for their deeds. The robber on the right realized that the Lord Jesus was innocent.
Forgetting all hesitation, the Lord said to Jesus, “Jesus, when you come into your kingdom, remember me (Luke 23:42). Jesus said to him, ‘I promise that today you will go with me to paradise on earth.’ (Luke 23: 43)
The Lord Jesus Christ is not far from us. Because death could not hold him. He is resurrected so that anyone who surrenders to Him as a Savior in a repentant heart will be given new life.
“In an acceptable time I have heard you, And on the day of salvation I have helped you.”Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation(2 Corinthians 6:2).
No one can escape God’s judgment by ignoring this salvation. “But what kind of salvation can we have if we neglect this great salvation?” (Hebrews 2:3).
This heavenly opportunity may not come to you more than once. God’s Word reminds you again, “Buy the opportunity, why is it so bad now? (Ephesians 5:16).
Are you tired of the battle of life? Are you aspiring for a new life? Yes, Jesus can lead you through danger, sorrow, despair, loneliness, and anxiety.
